Besides focusing on player development, we also focus on coach development. Our volunteer parent coaches receive hands on training from the club staff and are given the guidance and tools they need to succeed. At Indy Premier we desire to have the best coaches available at all levels of play to provide the best experience possible for our players. The Rec Plus program is organized and administered by our Rec Plus staff which allows our volunteer coaches the ability to focus on practices and games rather than administrative duties.
The Indy Premier Rec Plus Academy program features in house competition for PreK - 2nd grade teams. 3rd - 12th grade teams will play in-house competition and potentially play games against teams from neighboring community clubs.
Rec Plus teams will be formed using 3 different criteria.
Forming balanced competitive teams is the goal, therefore not all requests can be met. Evaluations are performed for 1st-8th players after the registration period closes and before each season starts. Players are also evaluated throughout the season by our staff who will attend 50% of all their practices and games.
The Rec Plus Academy evaluations will take place for NEW PLAYERS entering the RPA program for the first time after registration has passed and prior to the start of each season. Evaluations are performed to provide Indy Premier staff with a baseline of each players ability level, before assigning players to rosters. Our goal is to have rosters of mixed ability levels for all of our teams. Spring 2021 evaluations for NEW PLAYERS entering the Rec Plus program will take place on March 13th at our Trinity Campus fields. Returning Rec Plus players are evaluated over the course of their previous season played. Pre-K, Kindergarten and High School players will be assigned to teams without an evaluation process. Indy Premier staff can adjust teams rosters during the season if needed to maintain competitive balance.
